Pros
-It's a job -Not much work -No one over my shoulder -Periodically get a free trip to different mines -Most employees appear to be okay people
Cons
-Everyone below upper management in minerals is under compensated -Below average wages for minerals industry -Roughly half of all minerals projects are a failure -Company is very short sighted (only cares about revenue for next quarter) -Ridiculous bonus schedule that is virtually impossible to achieve (quarterly revenues need to be greater than previous quarter for a few years to get a bonus) - only about two senior people from each minerals group get a bonus -low to mid level management get a performance bonus and push low level employees for their own gain -corporate air travel is awful with the firm: placed in the cheapest flight seats at the worst times. SGS objective according to the travel documentation is for employees to be on the cheapest flights in the cheapest seats. -Lousy building - old and dilapidated with little upkeep
