Pros

Most of the team are genuinely nice and try to be helpful as best that they can. Room for growth (sort of) as it is a quickly growing company. You will learn a lot in a short period of time. Being fully remote and not needing to deal with commuting. Benefits have gotten significantly better to now include 401k.

Cons

Nepotism is pretty prevalent with that not everyone is treated the same of faces the same consequences for mistakes made. They also want expert level experience but pay entry level or below market value wages. There has been A LOT of resignations over the last few months but instead of really analyzing why this is happening, the CEO chucked it to "growth" and not everyone can handle it. It couldn't be any further from the truth. People do not quit jobs, they quit toxic environments. While every person can be replaced, treating them like they are disposable *while* insisting on a core value about "helping people grow" is a huge contradiction. A growing company will lose some people in the process however, when you are losing the main people who has helped the company grow, that's a red flag that something is going on within leadership.

Thank you for taking the time to share this feedback with us. We appreciate and value the input from current and former employees. We agree that our team is genuinely nice and helpful, there is tons of growth opportunities, being remote is awesome and we offer great benefits. Glad we can see eye to eye on that, because we really value those things. We also recognize that during this time of high growth we might not be the right fit for everyone, but we are constantly looking for ways to improve and help make sure our team members are both appreciated and supported. There is no way around this....change and growth is hard. But we are invested in our leaders and we are focused on rolling out a management training program that will help our managers grow to be the best leaders they can be. We are excited to continue to grow talent within SMC and offer them opportunities for growth, whether that means at SMC, or somewhere else down the line. We don’t feel that any employee is disposable and as we continue to grow and evolve, we strive to help all of our team recognize their talents and give them every opportunity we can. Best of luck in your career.

Pros

I love working with SMC National. They are organized and proactive in their approach to cutting edge strategies. Our leadership is constantly navigating the areas we can adjust to make the experience better for both the client and employees. As a Registered Dental Hygienist and former Practice Administrator working directly with dentists to growth their practice through marketing with operational support of the key driver, is incredible. I love that I get to work remotely and feel supported by my colleaguse despite not being in a common workspace.

Cons

I don't have any cons. I think its really easy to focus on the bad when your an employee but I have been in leadership prior to SMC and I can directly see the effort and intention here at SMC. No complaints here!

Pros

SMC National offers a unique combination of autonomy, professional growth, and a supportive culture. One of the biggest perks is the 9/80 schedule, which provides excellent work-life balance while still allowing you to be highly productive. The culture is collaborative, positive, and focused on helping both employees and clients succeed. The team is made up of like-minded individuals who genuinely care about delivering results and making a difference for the dental practices we serve. Another standout benefit is the extensive resource library. There are endless tools, training materials, coaching resources, and continuing education opportunities available for both clients and team members. The company invests heavily in helping employees grow professionally while also equipping them with resources that drive client success and practice growth. If you're someone who enjoys ownership, accountability, and the ability to make an impact, you'll appreciate the level of autonomy and trust given to employees.

Cons

The environment is fast-paced and can be demanding at times. Team members are often responsible for managing multiple client accounts simultaneously, which requires strong organizational skills, prioritization, and the ability to adapt quickly. For those who thrive in a high-performance environment, this can be energizing, but it may be challenging for individuals who prefer a slower pace or more structured workloads.
