Pros

-Find some (not many) great co-workers -Learn to double check the company next time

Cons

I would definitely NOT recommend SOLS 24/7 to anyone willing to help people. This is just a corporate company disguised as an NGO. The initial process LOOKS quite professional and HR’s people may also SOUND nice. When you will get there you will realize that your position, salary and contractual conditions are likely to be changed whenever whether you agree or not. Beware also of SOLS Health, they might share private and confidential information with HR team during the initial training (useless, by the way)!. Check whatever you sign TWICE. If you were to teach the SOLS materials (full of mistakes), don't worry, you are just expected to make your students pass a test. I just never heard the word "quality" if the press were not around, it's all about numbers, everything is fake. They even took pictures with indigenous people who admitted not having ever seen a solar panel pretending to be solar panel installers. Check also your schedule: you may be asked to work long hours and even on weekends. DO NOT think you will be able to travel around! SOLS justifies your extremely low salary and appalling living conditions: smelly and filthy dorm where more than 20 people live, some unexpected neighbours (cockroaches and bedbugs mainly) , LIMITED amount of unhealthy food ,... with the fact that they are an NGO. Of course these conditions are not applied for the elite: ask them about their living conditions and their nice collection (yes, collection) of luxurious cars at the parking lot (Maserati included ;) ), videogames in CEO's office, .... Maybe that 24 actually comes from the number of cars. If you ever dare to express any feeling different from admiration or congratulation, just get ready. Your message will not be accepted and you will be blamed as the messenger. (Just check the answers to reviews, they never do anything wrong, it is just you unable to appreciate CEO's and only CEO's magnificent organisation. You will realise some reviews are just written or edited by HR or communication team). Ok, how is it possible that this "Non"-Governmental Organisation works? Easy. The CEO has lots of important contacts willing to fund His projects. They are apolitical but they show banners with the former Prime Minister at their centres and small towns have two centres just because the former Prime Minister was born there. Why do people still work there? SOLS offers a bonus for foreigner workers (not for locals) at the end of their contract. Your salary will be so low that you may find yourself hoping for your contract to end to get your bonus and afford your flight back. There are also some people who have not realized how things really word there and some people willing to feel important when working in an irrelevant position. Be careful with this last group of people, they are willing to SPY (yes, SPY) on you to get a pat on the back from the CEO or His First Lady. If you are already in SOLS, just leave as soon as possible. If you are encouraged to make a video, write a report, ... please don't lie! However, do express your opinion on the internet, let people know what is really going on. Keep trying to help people, not CEO's! Stay out of this lion's den.

Dear Anonymous, We are sorry you had an unpleasant experience while with us. Whether what you mentioned is true (or based on limited research or lack of clarification) is something that only you can be responsible for. We have always improved based on our team member’s open, direct communication with us. It is easier to trust the words of someone who is able to put their name behind a comment. We have lasting, amazing relationships with our team, both current and previous that we value deeply, thanks to their communication and faith in us. Many of the points you mentioned have already been clarified and cleared previously, so won’t elaborate on that once again. The only things we would like to confirm is that SOLS Health abides strictly to the ethical code of the medical profession, and many of the psychologists there also work with other clinical psychology practices- and thus are completely neutral and committed to their profession. In any clinical psychology practice, the psychologist is only able to do their best based on the individual's attitude towards the sessions... it is up to the patient/client to put in the effort and commitment to get the full benefit of the support provided. In fact, many SOLS Health professionals go above and beyond the call of duty to care for our team members who require support- to the point of hosting them in their own homes when in need of 24 hour monitoring. The families of team members they have cared for have nothing but the highest praise for SOLS Health’s professionalism- something we are so proud of them for. Our HR team takes great effort to ensure the team is fully aware of the contracts signed multiple times before onboarding, and even has contract explanation sessions with each team members BEFORE signing. At any point, the team has the opportunity to not sign the contract, which we completely respect and encourage as it is far better for them to find a organization they are a better fit with. In fact, this is something we hope more potential team members do, not only with us, but with any opportunity they are considering! Especially in an NGO, flaky team members only end up hurting the communities they set out to empower. Unfortunately, our CEO does not have personal connections that help fund any programmes or projects we run. Every grant or project that is awarded to SOLS goes through a strict tendering and application process (ask any NGO or Social Enterprise in Malaysia of the process- it is not easy). But please do your own research into the partners we work with the application steps if you are truly interested in the truth =) As always, please do email us so we can seriously look into your grouses. We don't believe in 'perfect' organizations, but we do believe in doing our best, with the team we have and are always open to feedback and suggestions that we can implement to become better in the long term <3
