SYBO Games Response
4yHi there,
Thanks for taking the time to write a review of SYBO and to give us some feedback on how to make our workplace and company culture the best that it can be.
We’re not used to receiving one-star reviews and as you are a member of the SYBO family we would really hope that you would be willing to sit down with us and help us improve. We want you (and everyone at SYBO to know) that this is something we will always welcome.
Having said that, there are a couple of things that we would like to query and encourage. You mentioned that you feel it is you can no longer have a different point of view to those in middle management. In order for SYBO to keep growing, innovating and improving we need everybody to voice their ideas and opinions - we value and encourage diversity of ideas and thinking. Of course, we cannot guarantee that your idea will be actioned but we always do our best to listen to and evaluate everybody's ideas and assess them on merit before determining the best way forward. So please - don’t stop bringing your ideas to the table. We welcome them.
On your next point, you say that you have experienced bullying in the workplace. SYBO does NOT tolerate bullying. If you feel that you have experienced anything like this then we urge you to please report this to HR and we can investigate this with the seriousness it deserves.
Finally, you mentioned that you feel there is no clear direction or strategy at SYBO. We understand that sometimes, working on the front line, it can be difficult to see the bigger picture and how everyone's work contributes to the wider whole. This is one of the main reasons why we have the quarterly Town Halls where we revisit the vision, strategy and yearly must-win battles and the Monday morning Studio Update to give everyone an overview of what the teams are currently working on and how this fits the company’s strategy as a whole and how your work contributes to SYBO. In addition, each team has a Product Check-in on a monthly basis to ensure we not only stay on strategy but can also question it in case we have new discoveries. However, if there is any misunderstanding or confusion on your role here then please feel free to reach out to your manager or feel free to ask when we have our Q and A session at the end of each Studio Update.
Thanks once again for your feedback, we are really doing our best to make SYBO not only one of the best studios in the world but also the best workplaces so please feel free to reach out to us if you have any further things you would like to discuss.
Our doors are always open.
The SYBO Management Team
