Pros

Sage has been fun for me. I've been here some time now, and for the most part I've enjoyed the environment I'm in. My manager's great, I have a good team I can work with, and I love how the company engages with the local community and charities through volunteering and fundraising. I can build up my career with qualifications, and grow myself more with Sage Learning, for which I am incredibly grateful. The company's helped me grow a lot as a person, and even after my time at Sage inevitably ends, I will never be thankful enough for the career and learning experience thus far.

Cons

The problem I've been finding is the change in how people work. I remember when I first joined, I could have the freedom of picking where I work, and being able to juggle work/home at the same time. Especially when living alone, that is crucial for me. But, now things are looking different. We've had this whole thing of going into the office three days a week, which that alone is frustrating. I've had to move around my entire schedule around, just to drive to the office… and have no space to park in. So, I've had to re-arrange doctor's appointments, miss gym days, change my way of living, just to drive to the office on a gamble of whether I'm able to park or not. And if not, then I also waste petrol (which costs money!) just to go on the equivalent of a morning drive. Don't get me wrong, I'm a fan of going into the office, and I think it's important for everyone to do it whenever possible. But, setting aside even the fact that it makes us seem like children, being dictated to, when to come in, so on. Driving round, and round, and round and round and round, for over an hour in some cases? Just to find one space? And I've even left out the issue with desks, so this is me being nice about the whole situation! It just seems there's been absolutely no consideration on this requirement, alongside the fact that I now live in the fear of being disciplined if I miss one day off the three-day office requirement. With anxiety being a problem for me, and with me worrying about job security a lot, it's really not helped me mentally. I have no idea if they're trying to drive people out, but it's starting to make me think twice about the company. One of the main reasons I joined was because I was given the idea that I can work on my own schedule and where I want, and as long as I was being productive, it would all be steady sailing. It seems that benefit I was advertised has dropped. Also, at my old job, the lunch was free. Here, you have to pay a fair bit, for portions that aren't always filling. Make it free at least, please?

was hired as remote and get to have that honored, but have been openly told no career progression because of remote status. decent pay

Leadership instability: Seven manager changes during my relatively short tenure. Unrealistic targets: A sales quota set at 1,100% growth (not a typo). Slow product development: Getting anything actioned on the product side takes far too long. Product management turnover: Three product manager changes, resulting in no meaningful deliverables in over three years. Misaligned hiring priorities: Greater emphasis on DEI optics than on hiring people positioned to drive growth. Internal vs. customer focus: More energy spent on internal events than on product enhancements. Lack of accountability (the biggest issue): No one takes ownership. Responsibility gets passed around constantly — for example, client cancellations going unprocessed because they impact someone's numbers. Managers have openly encouraged pushing the work onto someone else rather than handling it.
