international pharmaceutical company with historical strengths in several broad areas: oncology, diabetes, immunology, neuro, rare diseases and cardiovascular disease. Is doing more collaborative work, driven by outsourcing of discovery and early research activities.
Cons
troubles with patent expiries with too little too late to make up the difference means R&D is taking the brunt of cost cutting. whole divisions gutted and large communities impacted with much more expected through 2017. increasingly a French-centric company losing its international/transnational identity.
