Pros
Compensation is fine, but I had to negotiate to achieve it
Cons
-Terrible onboarding process. They expect you to be up to speed on their esoteric programs and systems within days of receiving your work equipment -Leadership is completely clueless regarding the actual work done by the company. They seem to spend most of their time emailing news articles to employees -The company is not very forthcoming about the kind of work they do. Other contractors are the ones developing the AI/ML systems, not SSCI. SSCI essentially works as a middleman between technologies -Direct managers think of themselves as entrepreneurs and visionaries, not people managers. They lack interpersonal skills and have provided essentially zero support or guidance during my time here -All work discussion is based on appearance not substance. It is more important for SSCI's work to sound impressive than it is for it actually to be impressive. Most meetings are full of jargon and buzzwords.
