Pros
SOME schedule flexibility. Emphasis on SOME.
Cons
The schedule flexibility depends on whether or not they like you that day. The pay is below average for what is expected of the central station “analysts”. There is “training” but the person who trains you has no grasp on what they are training. Protocols constantly change without employees knowing first hand and these are then used against the employee to get them in trouble for not following directives that no one but the managers knew about in the first place. The minute you walk in for your shift, you have an immediate sense of foreboding because you have no idea what you’re going to get in trouble for today. Reports sent by analysts are changed to ensure that those involved (PD, property security, property management, etc) are not made to “look bad”. This includes situations where civilians could be in danger. Bottom line? Do NOT let those who pay the company look bad! If a few innocent people are harmed along the way, it’s alright. As an employee, on the one hand you are promised the world and with the other hand they beat you down while telling you why you don’t deserve what they promised; even though you’ve done everything they’ve asked and more. Upper management on ALL levels has no respect for employees. They are allowed to berate and belittle employees with no consequences whatsoever.
