Pros

A lot of good people that you will interact with daily. Good training and decent wages,. Great starting job to gain experience.

Cons

Where to start ? Upper management is petty and micro manages. The Japanese executives are there for a short time before they move on creating an inconsistent management course of action. Seems they are more interested in not making mistakes and getting out with a blemish. Face time is important, so there is a lot of time wasted in meetings and ineffective projects. There are some very good executives and managers, they are few and far between.

Pros

The floor supervision is of great quality for the dye house side and really care about your concerns. You can also submit ideas via a VIP which many people do and a lot of these ideas actually make it through the approval process quickly. The best vip ideas are chosen and the authors of the ideas are awarded.

Cons

The funding spent on maintenance is absolutely horrible. There are tarps and plastic all throughout the plant I worked at due to ceiling leaks. They also run on natural gas which becomes problematic in cold weather because of the gas company restricting the DT's the company is allowed to use. Because of the aforementioned gas problem there is not a good possibility of normal hours in cold weather. VAP tries to run too much fabric for the amount of machines they have and the nitting department has been working 6-7 days per week for over five months.
