Pros
Struggling to be successful-- you can be a part of the company's success and survival. Company is striving to be a "World Class" operation. Employees are empowered to be their best. Thay are offered training to be able to do all aspects of their job while waiting on no one once they determine the task that they are working on. A multi-craft approach is ideal where a Maintenance Mechanic is trained to operate heavy equipment as well to be able to do a complete job without waiting on someone else. The "that's not my job" is not the ideal phrase-- employees are expected to take the ball and run as far as they can. Supervision is there to facilitate or help coordinate to accomplish tasks.
Cons
No appreciation for dedicated employees beyond a paycheck. Old habits are hard to break-- old employees have been used to each having a different job and waiting or coordinating with each other to complete a task.
