Pros

In my 15+ year career, Siemens stands out as one of the best companies I’ve worked for. We’re in the midst of a large-scale transformation, and like turning a massive ship, meaningful change takes time. That said, the company has done a stellar job fostering a kind, inclusive, and non-toxic work environment. Our CEO, Roland Busch, is a great example of this culture. He worked his way up through a 30+ year career at Siemens, and in town halls and video communications, his authenticity and genuine care for the company and its people come through clearly. (He’s also not shy about sharing his gym routine, or giving advice to future talents.) Siemens is filled with brilliant minds, and it’s a privilege to work alongside experts who truly know their craft. On top of that, the company offers strong work-life balance, flexible and hybrid work models, and unique programs such as peer coaching that support both personal and professional growth.

Cons

Change and transformation in a 300,000+ person organization take time, and big ideas or innovations can be slow to implement. Like many mature organizations, Siemens has pockets where long tenure and job security can lead to complacency or slower adoption of modern standards and ways of working. The internal IT experience also has room for improvement.

Pros

Competitive pay, flex vacation/ PTO

Cons

Organizational restructuring seems more frequent than other companies I’ve worked for. Constant changes in processes. In four years I’ve seen change in incentive plan twice and not for the better even though they’ll tell you it is. You can make great money in sales still. Corporate alignment of rollouts of product timeline v. actual reality in the area level.
