Pros

Good vacation policy, relatively flexible hours

Cons

Urban Development unit at the Crystal hires "Interns" with master's degrees and work experience for less than London living wage. Very disorganized and inefficient work environment, with questionable research practices.

Hello, thanks for taking the time to leave a review. We have reviewed our recent job description that was used when advertising for an intern and there is no reference to the requirement for a Master’s degree. The interns we have currently, and have had in the past, have varied experience and qualifications, which we very much welcome. The London Living Wage (LLW) is currently £10.20 and when factoring in the housing allowance that’s paid on top of salary, the total wage that interns receive is above the LLW. Our cities work at the Crystal is led by experts, with many years of experience in working for and with cities and also delivering solutions for cities. Our work at the CoC is internationally recognised (internally and externally) and we play an important role in highlighting the challenges that cities face and advising them on strategies to solve them. Our research is developed and delivered in partnership and consultation with relevant stakeholders. As a business we value our internship program and recognise the valuable contribution and perspectives that interns can bring to our important work. We continually review the structure of the program and will take these comments into consideration at the next review.

No major cons, things will vary depending on the team you’re on though.

Pros

Competitive pay, flex vacation/ PTO

Cons

Organizational restructuring seems more frequent than other companies I’ve worked for. Constant changes in processes. In four years I’ve seen change in incentive plan twice and not for the better even though they’ll tell you it is. You can make great money in sales still. Corporate alignment of rollouts of product timeline v. actual reality in the area level.
