Cons
Mark Smiderle, an industry outsider and Canadian national, was given control of the company in 2020 and systematically dismantled the leadership, the middle management and labor talent, and the physical operations within 24 months. The final killshot was his installation of an executive team full of inexperienced sycophants who, in following all of his unethical directives, exacerbated, even accelerated his destruction of the business. I have never seen anyone in any business over leverage the good will of a company to create enemies in every direction like Mark has. All of Soft-Tex's suppliers, employees, finance partners/investors and even customers were negatively impacted by his apathy and absence of ethics. The company is no longer able to deliver value of any sort to the marketplace.
