Pros

Softchoice is an amazing organization that has a good problem - lots of business and clients are quite happy with the services offered. Outside of core business activities, there are many positive extra curriculum to participate in. From board committee's to join, Softchoice cares volunteer work and many social events. I accelerated my business and technical skills substantially and was engaged deeply in my work. I chose to resign to pursue professional growth and development by pursuing a leadership role with a non competitive organization.

Cons

Even though it is a chill environment there is quite a bit of red tape and rules of engagement. This is due to the organization rapidly growing and having to adopt to a strict corporate culture. One of the most valuable and strategic lines of business has experienced a substantial amount of staff turnover in the presales team. Over 2 years I observed 7 skilled employees leave. Only 3 of the 7 were dismissed. Concern, why is senior management not acknowledging this churn in a highly focussed practice where growth is critical.

Pros

Challenging and interesting work. The potential is there.

Cons

Management does not listen and executives are fed bad information to action on. Director and VP level folks control the narrative and make bad decision after bad decision
