Pros

High tech environment Interesting projects

Cons

Your career growth is highly dependent on your team leader. Many managers lack flexibility and managerial skills, and have been promoted solely due to their technical expertise. Managers are often not open to criticism and may make things difficult for you in the group because of the feedback you provide. In such cases, don’t expect any support from HR, as they fully side with the manager and easily ignore you. There is no work-life balance in the ICDC department during projects, and the workload is extremely high. Opportunities for learning during projects are limited. Managers do not have a clear understanding of the company’s strategy. Most decisions are made in Japan, and the company lacks the independence to make its own decisions. Employees are not trained in soft skills or cultural awareness. In some groups, due to poor role distribution and weak management, it’s easy to become stagnant in your career. There are completely discriminatory attitudes that make work difficult for employees. The promotion process is unclear and entirely depends on the manager’s personal preferences and your relationship with them. Managers are always complaining about budget shortages, especially after COVID-19.
