Pros

If you're reading this you're likely trying to find work and see that Semo BH is hiring. If you need a job then by all means apply and accept a role and contribute to society. You'll get paid bi-weekly and have benefits if full time. The cause is good and if you like to help people this is a good place to start. However, caveat emptor.

Cons

Be prepared for a lot of bureaucracy and an infinite loop of changes that accomplishes little but the next round of change. The cycle never stops, no one knows what they are supposed to do and managers don't manage because they weren't trained properly or should never have been hired as a manager/director in the first place. It's the President/CEO's playground and run solely by him. Even the Board of Directors are in his control, when it should be the board that dictates the changes to be made. They now it's his playground. They like to pretend they're important. If you work here you'll find people are entrenched in their positions that have worked there for a number of years. If you want to position yourself for a better role, get some experience and look for another employer. Chances are you will anyway because the turnover rate is very high. But don't worry, if you quit or get fired and enough time has passed they'll hire you back to start the ridiculousness all over again. Don't worry, it's not going to be better the second time.

Pros

Co-workers (most of them anyway) and being a part of helping people

Cons

Everything. Management has no respect for anyone under them. They like to pile a bunch of stuff on you without giving you a raise. They hire people in the same position as you making more. Also no communication whatsoever.
