Pros

some coworkers are awesome, catered lunch, free kitchen snacks. close to Lake Merritt and uptown oakland shops and restaurants.

Cons

workers are paid below market price. they paid MINIMUM WAGE for jobs that required html and web knowledge, technical skills, multi-tasking and client interface. nonexistent work-life balance, i feel bad for the people who work there that think working 24/7 is the norm. clients are high-maintenance (expected), but the company didn't provide me with tools to keep up with clients. I had to use my home laptop with Photoshop to complete projects for clients. upper management are related family members, expect what you say to coworkers to be spread around. I also felt really uneasy/ had a bad feeling about their projects - Epic Scale and Immunity Project. They claim to use these causes/software to donate money to charity and for creating a HIV vaccine, but with no transparency to donors about what they actually do with the money. They use jargon and overarching promises to people, but knowing them in real life (how they don't even invest in their own employees, willing to do anything for a profit) made me skeptical about where the money really goes. Epic Scale claims to use your unused computer power to "change the world" with no hard evidence as to how. Epic Scale mines your computer for bitcoin, but users don't know where that ends up. shady business practices and shady people

It has been a couple of years since this review was written, and we have made some positive strides in a few of the problem areas you’ve discussed. We’ve cut down on turnaround immensely over the last two years, and now offer more competitive salary options. If an employee is ever concerned about the integrity of a project, speak up- especially if you don’t have all the tools you need to do your job. All of our managers and directors have an open door policy and are always willing to spend some time to go over any concerns you may have about a project. We can assure you that our projects are legitimate, although we have had some “fails” which we have learned from. Thank you for your time spent with us.

Pros

Working at Sparkart has been genuinely transformative. This team embodies everything you'd hope for in a modern company: passion, innovation, and genuine care for both people and craft. The founder brings Silicon Valley-caliber vision and stays impressively current with emerging tech trends. His genius-level thinking pushes the company into new territories while keeping us grounded in what matters most: serving the music industry we all love. The GM deserves special recognition as one of the best leaders I've ever worked with. He creates an environment where people genuinely matter, transforming even remote work into something you look forward to each day. His authentic care for the team sets the tone for the entire company culture. Sparkart operates at the intersection of music, technology, and AI, and we're not just keeping up with trends, we're setting them. The team constantly pushes boundaries, exploring new possibilities and implementing cutting-edge solutions. If you're someone who thrives on innovation and wants to be part of shaping the future of music commerce, this is your place. The caliber of artists and organizations we work with speaks volumes. These aren't just contracts; they're partnerships with top-tier names in the industry, giving you unparalleled exposure to meaningful, high-impact work. Every single person here genuinely loves what they do. That collective passion for the music and tech industries creates an energy that's contagious. It's rare to find a workplace where enthusiasm is the norm rather than the exception.

Cons

Honestly, I'm hard-pressed to find any. If I had to mention something, it would be that the fast pace of innovation means you need to stay adaptable and eager to learn constantly, but for the right person, that's a feature, not a bug.

Pros

Fully remote, minimal micro management, opportunities to make improvements, nice CEO and upper management, chill co-workers

Cons

No growth opportunities, not great pay, no 401k matching, average PTO, never truly "off the clock", annual raise is as minimal as it comes, still described as "start-up" after 25+ years
