Pros

Rewarding because you are able to give back to the underrepresented, physically and mentally disabled. It's really rewarding to connect with the residents. Some of the homes you really don't do anything for the most part but watch tv. You're able to make your own schedule.

Cons

There isn't much room for advancement here. Upon being hired I was told you have to be there for years before getting a raise and increasing your rank within the company. The communication is terrible and the availability sheet is a load of crock, because they will call you whenever even if they know you're not able to work. I've even been bribed before to do a shift. The benefits are terrible, and the pay is low due to the fact that everything is based off grants and funding. It's also a little stressful that there isn't much structure in the homes of the violent clients. You're basically told to "run away from them, reason, or call the cops." Some of the places are understaffed, but the company always seems to be hiring. I'm trying to find a new job as soon as possible, this is by far one of the most terrible companies. The only thing I like about this job is the rewarding feeling I get from helping others.
