Pros

The work is easy and can be done from home, with little to no supervision. You get to work on different projects, and probably get exposed to many different aspects of a business who's still in the early development process.

Cons

The founder/ manager does not have a good relationship with its volunteers/ interns. All the work you do to add credit and value to the organization, will not be appreciated (in the end). Know that it's all about what you can do for Speranza, rather than what Speranza can do for you. Again I say, there is no appreciation whatsoever.

Speranza Human Compassion Project Response
7y
We are sorry you did not feel appreciated. We appreciate and love all of our volunteers as Speranza is 100% volunteer led and we all tirelessly volunteer our time toward our cause. No credit goes to any one person in the organization. All of our diligent work is to benefit the women and children in crisis, as well as, our first responders, medical teams, and project partners. Please feel free to reach out to Sara or Christina anytime to discuss this further. We would love to chat about this issue as this is the first time we are hearing of it. Best wishes to you in your future endeavors!! Speranza Human Compassion Project www.speranzaproject.org. Suppport for those on the frontline of domestic violence.

Pros

I had the pleasure to intern at Speranza Human Compassion Project and joining a team of dedicated leaders and other student interns. The goal of this internship was to conduct research and use that research to develop training modules for first responders that engage with victims of domestic violence on a range of different topics to help them respond compassionately towards victims and their families. As a Psychology major and busy student, interning at Speranza was a great experience as it was mostly a remote position that really worked with my school and work schedule. It has also really helped me build my resume. I also thought it was great that at the end of my internship, the Intern Coordinator provided me with a professional reference and recommendation letter which helped me land a job! Overall, excellent internship experience!

Cons

I didn't experience any cons while interning at Speranza Human Compassion Project.
