Sportvision is now part of Sportsmedia Technology Corp. For up to date information and jobs, please see the Sportsmedia Technology Corp [276797] profile..
The company is a great place to work if you love sports. There is no greater pride than seeing products that you work on national and some international television. Employees are passionate about what they work on and management are appreciative of heroic efforts. The company listens to employees and encourages continuous learning.
Cons
While most Bay area companies provide free lunch daily Sportvision only caters about 1-2 times a month. Sports are on weeknights and weekends so your hours may vary dependent on the season and sport you are working on. (This is a perk to most!) The industry is small and marketing to large broadcasters and leagues takes a long time for them to buy-in on new products.
Interesting work and interesting products. Travel to sporting events
Cons
Company has lost many experienced employees in the last two years.
Major business deals were lost to competitors. Sportvision is no longer respected in the industry.
Too many different products that do similar things with very little code sharing. Lot of duplicate work being done.
Software is old and very inflexible. Lots of poor coding habits and complete lack of oversight and understanding from technical leadership. Clients are frustrated by the many glitches this causes.
Poor business structure (silo's). This guarantees the company will never branch out into new business and causes poor communication between teams.
Cronyism.
