Pros
If you can manage to find the right people, they make your time at the college 100% worth it. The benefits package was truly top notch - until they took away retirement contribution matching and made everyone's medical coverage HDHP. Students get an amazing education. The faculty spends so much time developing an immersive curriculum that teaches valuable life lessons. Staff and faculty alike care immensely for the well-being and development of students.
Cons
Weak management from soup to nuts. Miscommunication on all levels, there is a strange element of "secrecy" from upper admin. Financial stability is nonexistent. This school was released from probation with SACS by divine mercy; definitely not because of financial improvement. A majority of the power lies within the hands of a small handful of people, who withhold information from the President and Board, who think that everyone loves working at Spring Hill. If there is an issue the Vice Presidents run and cry to the President at the drop of a hat. Enrollment is steadily decreasing despite what they tell prospective employees and current employees at assemblies. Not one person in power wants to be held accountable for mistakes (including SACS probation). Everything is always someone else to blame for the College's problems. There is no trust on the most basic of levels. Supervisors log into their supervisees email accounts and look for gossip and reasons to let people go.
