Pros
What started off as a dynamic and exciting work environment, turned into a narcissistic nightmare. At one point, Sprious had amazing team members, who were committed to building an organization geared toward the future. There is a star warranted for the great team members of past and present. The company has lost dozens of team members over the years. There are incredible people who selflessly worked long hours for below market pay, and sacrificed their own well-being without reward. These are people who will do amazing things in the years moving forward, and hopefully be much more appreciated.
Cons
The company will deny requests for raises and compensation adjustments, only to pay substantially more for a new hire with no company knowledge to replace departed roles. Many people have left in the last year, and over the years to much more fulfilling roles and places of work. The loss of many team members further decimated the already crumbling culture. In my opinion, the CEO is an unqualified leader. Claims to be a visionary, but his ideas come from the books of actual business and thought leaders. Spent around a year and hundreds of pages on a “culture revamp” that was seemingly a failure, instead of prioritizing tangible or sustainable improvements to the business and company. He regularly disappears for weeks at a time in another attempt to find himself. The “company” Tesla and “company” trips were always prioritized over team members. He tries to sell himself as a business leader, when he actually needs a babysitter. Watch out for his evil vindictiveness. They have turned over a significant portion of their team within the last year. This includes senior roles, security roles, operations roles and essential business functions. Their historic turnover is astonishing. They appear to be abandoning the United States labor market and pursuing cheaper labor abroad if you view their recent job posts and newly joined team members. The avoidable loss of long-standing team members caused the organization chaos, leaving an inexperienced team trying to piece together what I would describe as serious mismanagement and lack of leadership. If you can avoid it, I would recommend working anywhere else. If you enjoy being gaslit, kissing the ring, paid below market, and absorbing responsibility without reward, this may be an enjoyable workplace for you. Everything that was once good about the company is now dead. The people who made the company prosperous and enjoyable have moved on. People are treated like they are disposable here. Getting out was a substantial improvement for my mental health.
