Pros

Star has well above average pay for technicians, a competitive pay package, and good benefits. There is no weekend work. The environment is clean and kept up well. Customer happiness is a priority.

Cons

The Covid period was challenging because driving, and therefore, auto repair needs were down.

Pros

Opportunities for advancement to management. The company sets the standard for employers in the automotive service industry. Above average pay and benefits and a Monday through Friday work week. Monthly meetings allow every employee to have a voice. Fast paced and a progressive attitude makes for a positive work environment. The owner is onsite and involved in daily operations.

Cons

The days can be long in the service industry but the mandatory flex time off provides a nice break.

Pros

The guys in the shop are great group of guys to work and weekends off which is rare in the industry.

Cons

Where do I begin: -Excessively long hours (55-60 hours a week if not more) -Good luck trying to take a lunch if you are an Advisor. -Be ready to be micro managed in everything you do. -Be ready to go to meeting twice a month where you will be there until 9pm even when you been there since 6:45am -The owner is only looking for "Yes Men" and no one with an opinion. - He wants someone that is willing to be stuck in the same job their whole life and be happy with it. -Even when you are on time you are late. -Was told hours are 7-6 but what that really means is 6:30 until 7:30 and that is regular days.

We like to hire nice, intelligent, career oriented people that get things done, and unfortunately the reviewer simply didn’t fit the bill and was terminated. Our managers are conscientious and do work hard, but the reviewer is exaggerating as to the number of hours worked and the reviewer failed to point out that we also allow flexible scheduling for our managers. While we do have evening staff meetings (entire crew) once per month, as well as one evening manager’s meeting once per month, we do so because we believe that it is important that all managers and staff are kept informed and have a chance to provide input in the direction of the company. Unfortunately, in our business, such meetings can only be held on off hours, and, as the reviewer indicated we rarely work any time on weekends. We wish the reviewer best of luck in his future endeavors.
