Pros

I am still fairly new, but in just a few short months I feel that I have already been able to step in and really feel like part of the team. Every single member of the management team is approachable and helpful, willing to get their hands dirty along side the rest of the team. Company goals and values are regularly reiterated and practiced by management. In addition, management encourages the team to use their time off rather than making you feel guilty for taking a day off (which I have not always experienced in previous positions and has been super refreshing). Another valuable piece of the puzzle is management's — and the team's — commitment to building a strong culture amongst the staff. All staff are local to the St. Louis area, and everyone comes into the office on Tuesdays and Thursdays for in person collaboration which is perfect for me. Regular company events allow for bonding outside of meetings as well. I honestly look forward to seeing my co-workers each day because they are honest, kind, and hardworking people. We work as a team, rarely letting pride get in the way of progress; no cutthroat tactics of taking credit for other's work or feelings of toxic competition with peers. All-in-all, I see lots of growth opportunities for myself here, and I am excited to see how the coming years play out. Within my first two weeks, two separate clients made a point to share in meetings how happy they were with the service they had been getting from the SteadyRain team. It was reassuring to hear such positive and unprompted reports so early in my tenure.

Cons

Tracking time is a necessary evil with billable hours in an agency setting, so keeping up with time spent on different projects can be a hassle when quickly moving from one project to another. Also, juggling multiple project deadlines can make some days feel more overwhelming than others so be prepared to work hard.

Pros

Always challenging, always rewarding, SteadyRain is a company that focuses on true solutions for each and every client. It could be a commonality that as an employee there, you are encouraged to strive towards the goals that are set, which in multiple scenarios, you are creating these particular solutions. Simply put: it's fun. Great office space, solid benefits, a solid place to "think." Culturally, the people are great and there's a sense of freedom rather a ton of constraints. It's also about the skill-set and personality at times though. It's important to be sharp. It's seen and recognized. I was an intern at first, which would later transition into a salaried position. I believe the result after any challenge is growth. I would say SteadyRain absolutely encourages their employees to take any path in this industry, you just have to "walk the talk." There's an true investment into your career if your investment is into the work you accomplish while you're there.

Cons

This industry does require a particular skill-set and would not be the best fit if research and continuing education isn't your thing. SteadyRain provides a ton of resources as well as colleagues that are pretty sharp so that there's always an opportunity to learn. It can be long hours, but that's the name of the game. It's a deadline driven environment which can be exciting or pressing, so it's important to always remember that this is about a team, and the overall solution for the client and remaining humble to that.
