Pros
- Great pay, depending on the contract you started under. - Health and Dental Insurance - Paid vacations, sick time, and personal days. As a 23 year old working for Stop & Shop since I was 15 it is difficult to leave, being in college I need consistency in hours, with them I know I will get at least 15 hours each week. Also, the pay and benefits are better than anything else out there for part time.
Cons
Sometimes you wonder if the managers who are hired to run the company have ever worked a day as a part time employee, they seem mindless in expectations and overall understanding of how things are getting done. Their program in which they take college grads and turn them into store managers is mind numbing and frustrating as a part time employee. The new managers come into the store having never worked a day on the floor and question what you are doing while working, even though as an 8 year employee I know very well what needs to be done.
