Pros

My manager, HR partner, and co-workers at Storm Ideas have all been absolutely lovely to work with. Everyone has been incredibly supportive and engaged and I feel empowered to do my best work every day.

Cons

As a fully remote team member in a very different time zone, it takes some extra thought to plan communication.

Pros

Back in the day, working at Storm Ideas was great. The team was lovely, the clients are world class, and the benefits were good. If only it was still like that.

Cons

Where to start? After losing the Disney contract, senior leadership lost it. They got obsessed with AI, and it became increasingly clear that they wanted to replace us with AI, especially the expensive British workers. These new codex-powered workflows are so inefficient that it would be easier and quicker to do tasks the old fashioned way. The technology isn’t there, and is not worth the insane amounts of money they are spending on AI. There is something so insulting about senior leadership telling us that they can’t afford to give us pay rises in line with inflation in April while simultaneously buying us all brand new £3k macbook pros because codex doesn’t run well on windows. And now micromanaging how we use codex by having everything approved by AI Operations and sending us warnings if we use fast mode because token costs have skyrocketed. People are quitting pretty much daily, with no new hires to replace them. Those that are left have more and more on their plates. Something has to give. You can’t keep going on like this, Louise, otherwise Storm Ideas won’t make it till 2027.
