Pros

Good Work and life Balance

Cons

I worked at Strandbags as a Christmas casual and was later emailed a contract to convert to casual employment. However, after only a few additional shifts, I stopped receiving rostered shifts from December 2024 onward. Despite not being rostered for a long period, I remained in the staff group chat without any communication regarding my employment status. I would have appreciated clearer communication or confirmation about whether my employment had ended rather than being left uncertain. Overall, my experience involved poor communication and a lack of professionalism regarding rostering and employment updates.

Pros

- There is good pay and management is decent. - Pay is decent, and the discount is quite generous - Good flexibility

Cons

- Hours are limited to 3 hour shifts for most unless you are the manager. - - That means the only way to get hours is to work every other day instead of long shifts, therefore somewhat limiting flexibility. - I have ended up working alone for the last three/four hours and they do not give you a 10 minute paid break, or even permit you to leave and close to go to a bathroom. - You work alone most shifts. - Again, to say, no 10 minute break. Managers will not also care to enforce it even though it's a legal requirement for 4 hours.
