I’ve been a part of Sunfed since the early R&D days when we didn’t know we could make Chicken Free Chicken but we were not going to stop trying! I remember the Founder & CEO being on the production floor with us doing the work alongside us. I have seen her literally build this company from nothing into something very special that is lighting up the world. The CEO and management are not ‘checked-out’, they are very much engaged with all aspects of the business and actively work hard to continuously innovate and grow Sunfed. They encourage and empower open comms with the team and problem-sharing to fuel continuous improvement. When covid-19 happened, management responded strongly very early and ensured comprehensive safety protocols over and above Sunfed’s already strict protocols were implemented quickly. Being an essential business, the CEO herself was onsite everyday all through covid-19 to ensure things were in order. They worked hard around-the-clock to ensure Sunfed could safely keep running at full pace so everyone, especially production workers could maintain their income through covid. The CEO even arranged for daily food to be made for staff all through alert levels 3 & 4 when takeaways had closed! Sunfed is new and different and some may find this challenging. I enjoy learning and growing here everyday, and I am very proud to be part of something that is leaving the world better than it found it.

Fast-paced startup environment, need the ability to think on your feet and wear multiple hats.

The most dynamic and exciting place I have ever worked at. We are creating products that will change the world and this requires a special kind of person to be a part of our team. I am honoured that I am a part of this great organisation. We are a dedicated, smart and hard working group, we are here to get the job done but we have a great time doing it. The culture is strong and supportive: we all work together collaboratively to get the job done. We are honest with each other, so we have very real working relationships. This is very refreshing for me, as you know exactly where you stand and you aren’t afraid to speak up and say what you really think. All feedback is considered and we can give feedback directly to the owners, they are always interested in our opinions. We set a high standard for ourselves and this enables us to grow as a group and grow as an employee, I have learnt so much since I have been here and am looking forward to continuing my journey of growth with this company.

Sometimes people join our team that have overstated their capabilities, this can be problematic as we work in a fast paced environment that relies on strong skill sets.
