Pros

The owner does pay well.. when she wants to.

Cons

Constantly expected to be working during after work hours, weekends, even when you are not on-call. Always micromanaged. Yo-yo'ed all over the Northwest side of Houston. Chaotic work environment. Owner can be cruel at times. Got screwed out of money on several occasions because the owner is very forgetful and doesn't "remember" that she promised you she would reimburse you!!!

High turn over. Owner made her own rules as the things came about. Withheld pay for late documentation.

Pros

Hospice patients, coworkers, potential to have flexible hours

Cons

Ridiculously high turnover rate, no benefits to speak of, no mileage reimbursement & mileage is no longer deductible on tax returns, patients are located at great distances requiring toll roads, few local referrals, owner is manipulative & constantly altering her demands/expectations, work calls and texts require response 24/7 and interfere regularly with home life, owner will stop direct deposit with out notifying employee, requiring pick up of paper check in office, postponing pay, refuses to mail final pay which is in violation of Texas Labor Law. Texas Workforce Commission Labor Claim can be filed on line very easily and documents a pattern for this employer!
