All over the place - Engineering Sunsystem Technology Employee Review

Pros

A few of the employees, namely front desk and the former head of engineering (and the rest of the now defunct engineering department for that matter) whom I hope has moved on to greener pastures. If you're a technician, you will probably be okay as they seem to be the only people below management that are listened to at this company.

Cons

Every department head, sans the former engineering head, has grandiose ideas of where the company is headed and what they're capable of. If they don't attain these goals quickly, they shelve them or move on entirely. The deck was constantly being shuffled while I was there. It seemed that, instead of chasing long term goals, they were chasing get rich quick schemes. The main problem is that they seem to sincerely want to make positive changes to the industry, but quickly give up when the results aren't instantaneous. And the consequences for giving up were layoffs. Every single time. As noted in other reviews, the favoritism for old buddies and school friends is somewhat of a pain as it certainly gives off a vibe of being kept out of the loop by the popular kids at their private table. Beware the CEO, he has been described as a guy who can "sell ice to an eskimo" and this is not an incorrect assessment. If you're young or applying for a new type of job, they will most likely entice you with the "your job/salary will improve over time" shtick. Don't take that carrot.

Pros

Very lucrative pay structure and freedom to develop ones skill set pursuant to their respective position and job role. PTO is ok as well.

Cons

Many things. Inclusivity is the main factor that separates those who are simply trying to earn a living versus those who are truly pursuing a career. If you don't have connections to those who run the company, you will have a difficult time progressing. No sense of upward mobility whatsoever. All benefits are trash (besides the PTO structure which is just alright). Management limits information intake for lower level employees which only creates more problems for morale and overall quality of work. If work slows down for operations, you will suffer and are recommended to seek out unemployment benefits. This is not the way you look after your lower level employees, especially when their labor is the only way revenue gets generated.
