Pros

The immediate people I worked with in my team were awesome people to work with. I learned a whole bunch from them, and they were always willing to help and have a good time. The technologies we were using were some of the best I've worked with.

Cons

Swell doesn't care about the employees. They see them as a warm body to perform a job to make them money. Things were also really all over the place. The executives could never make a solid decision on anything. We had to back track on stuff fairly often. Lots of useless meetings as well, and meetings that made you ask why you are even working there.

Thank you for the feedback--it is appreciated. We definitely had a bit of a rollercoaster year in 2022, with challenges on numerous fronts. However, we have made significant changes to the business, including change across the entire executive team, which we are seeing lead to a more positive and meaningful experience for our employees and our customers as we continue moving forward with clear focus and direction. Our current leadership team sincerely cares about each member of our team, and we strive daily to uphold our Core Values. Our hope is that this is felt across our entire organization.

Pros

The engineering culture at Swell is exciting. We are given the freedom to work without micromanagement. We get to work on challenging problems and implement solutions as we see fit. Everybody on the team has ownership in the outcome of the product.

Cons

The startup environment isn't for everybody.

Pros

Loved the people I worked with. Has pretty good benefits. Managers were good about not micromanaging or hovering over your shoulders as long as you completed your work.

Cons

Common cons that come with the startup realm. Things could change pretty quickly with little to no notice. Workload can buildup but managers are good about hearing concerns and helping delegate your work if needed.
