Pros

Meeting like-minded people in an industry I want to pursue.

Cons

No HR department at all. Extremely unprofessional from such a large, global company. I had just completed my 2 weeks of training, & was told I would be contacted for further information regarding my shifts etc. Two weeks passed & I had heard nothing so I sent an email to my station's email address. I then checked my Aeronet (which is where I access my roster) & found that I could only log in through the 'ex-employee' portal. No letter of termination, not even a courtesy call to let me know they don't want me anymore. I have called the station number on the website but was connected with an individual who struggled to speak English, and I could hear chickens in the background. They took my number and email and promised to follow up, but I still haven't heard anything, over a month later. Extremely disappointed with the conduct of this branch, and the company as a whole. It should not be difficult - let alone impossible - to find a HR department for any company... after my experience I am not shocked that Swissport doesn't have one at all! They do not respect their employees or care for their wellbeing & probably don't want to hear any backlash as they know what they are doing. Terrible company.

Pros

There is a sense of family culture at the airside level, and that was one of the few genuinely positive parts of the experience.

Cons

Unfortunately, the overall environment was overshadowed by micromanagement and a culture where communication often felt dishonest. There were situations where it seemed like management claimed conversations or warnings had happened when they had not, only to move quickly to write employees up. The lack of consistency and trust made the workplace frustrating and difficult to navigate. There also seemed to be high turnover, along with very little clear direction or path for growth. On top of that, some business practices came across as focused on avoiding providing proper benefits, which left a negative impression.
