Pros

Not everyone that worked there is heartless but the manager is very heartless, you can see it through his eyes, no soul.

Cons

-The worst place to work, do not waste your time. You can find a better job then walking around in Walmart convincing people they should Direct TV. -The training was horrible: Manager wants you out there the first day after paperwork and your in the field/jungle expected to talk with people but you don't know about the products. So you sit there and look stupid. -Manager is very condescending when he talks to you or when he tries to help you. It's like he's your father talking to a little kid. -I worked for a short time and could not work anymore, I was not paid for the time I spent in the field with no training.

Hello! Your review of us seems very emotionally driven and we wish we could address these issues with you on a more personal level. Please email us at hr@smgminneapolis.com or call our office phone, our HR department managers are prepared to speak with you in depth regarding your experience with the anonymous manager you critique. We intentionally affiliate with big box retailers due to massive opportunities for public-relations exposure for our clients. Therefore, our marketing platform selections are invaluable to our clients and are deliberately chosen for optimum growth. For our hiring process, we are candid about the platform we choose to connect with our customers as well as the type of venues we prefer to operate our promotional marketing. It is regrettable you did not enjoy employment with us however, our staff have never thought of their work as a waste of time in any capacity. Your impression that our company utilizes unsuspecting individuals to conduct forceful sales and that our industry as a whole is scorned is something we disagree on. We are not looking for just any random candidate to work with us, we expect qualities such as leadership, innovation, consistency, and team empowerment from all of our managers. We are aware that we set higher standards than most companies because we are unwilling to sacrifice high quality performance for higher volume profit. Neither SMG nor our management team have ever accepted currency from employees and they never mistreat/abuse in any manner. We also compensate everyone for work completed. To hear you claim that you never received payment from us is troubling and this is the first time receiving this type of information. Please contact our HR Dept. so we can pull up employee records and documentation to sort this issue out. As a company, we never pretended to be anything other than a marketing and sales firm which strives to meet the expectations of our clients and provide revolutionary growth opportunity for our employees. We are the leading performance-driven marketing firm in Minnesota so it is understandable how some personalities at times are highly passionate and can rub people the wrong way. However, arrogance and condescension are never attitudes we tolerate. We appreciate the time you dedicated to us while worked with SMG. We truly wish you the best for your next step and hope you learned invaluable interpersonal communication skills from our company to take through life.
