Pros

Maybe if you want to be a show dog?

Cons

-Turnover speaks volumes, they burn through staff. -The only people who can tolerate it here long term are family members and friends of Upper Management. -Upper Management has no professionalism, clarity, they discriminate against a lot of people with disabilities, and try to hide it by choosing their own Board of Directors. -Lack of communication and inconsistencies will leave you confused. -A lot of red tape and jumping through hoops. -Accountability measures and human rights protections are not in existence. -Costs way more too work here than it is worth. -Low wage comparatively.

Pros

If you put no value into things, you can work here for a long time

Cons

-Not the safe space it is designed to be- Concerns regarding patterns of discrimination, differential treatment, wrongful termination, nepotism, and inconsistent application of Policies, Procedures, and review processes have been investigated and substantiated. Although there are many caring staff at times, high turnover can greatly impact ones experience. Strong authoritarian approach to perceived/contrived concerns. Mission, values, and purpose are lost with this approach. Reluctance to address knowledge and skill deficits will only mean this continues into the future. Intimidation efforts will not make me misguide you. Especially if you have an invisible disability, or have diversity as a part of your identity; please have supports in place to make sure that if you enter this space, you will be okay no matter what. Board members who "direct" opporations include Management employees. Positive Facebook reviews that boost rating reference receiving payment for "trading"?? Many of the positive reviews on here that boost rating are family/friends/former clients/give gifts to Upper Management which exceed Policy outlined limits and are now paid staff.... A lot of potential conflict of interest going on. This is not to say you cannot get access to valuable resources here, just be very mindful in doing so. Stigmatizing comments and behaviors can impact people differently. Continuing to access supports here dictates continued funding, so have your needs heard and met!

Pros

Get to make a difference in client's lives, mainly people with disabilities

Cons

-Never offered real feedback, didn't care about employee growth nearly as much as towing the company line -Impossible to advance if you are an independent thinker and do not agree fully with management -Talk a lot about inclusion, yet have overlooked many opportunities to promote people of color who were already in house. The staff as a whole may represent the census well, but management is mainly monochromatic -Staff room was full of gossip. About half the staff would gossip about clients and other staff members. It was like a snake pit. -Management was extremely nervous during a recent audit. I have no proof of anything here, but that's never a good sign -They laughed when I tried to negotiate a salary raise. With today's inflation, any boss who would laugh at that -- that says it all -One of the managers is refusing to retire.
