Pros

I just started fulltime here after consulting for about 4 months. The company is big in some ways, small it others. The compensation is very good and I hear that the bonuses are great. The retirement benefits are outstanding; for my age bracket they are putting 12% of my salary away into a pension. Job flexibility is huge. Because of the 'small shop' mindset many people don't seem to work that hard so the bar is set low. Combine this with the big push on working from home and you can have a pretty flexible lifestyle. Many genuinely nice people, beautiful campus (Charlotte) and proving financial services to education and research.

Cons

Because it is run like a small shop in many ways there are many processes either broken or completely missing this can be frustrating. Things move slowly. Because so many people are so laid back relying on others can be a problem. I have heard that upward mobility is limited but I haven't been here long enough to see this for myself.

Pros

Great work life balance, good benefits, decent pay, ease of running your own practice as an “advisor”, and healthy work environment

Cons

Management styles can vary and affect your experience, upper management doesn’t seem to be well equipped to ensure the organization’s success but it is resilient nonetheless.

Pros

Compensation is great for advisors once they are promoted to VP. Everyone else has to wait a year and hope for a good rating that's more of a game than merit based

Cons

Woke culture, reverse discrimination, very frustrating to do business with as a client
