Pros
Good corporate culture, mostly nice people. There are a wide spectrum of people with differing levels of competencies, but in general, I have not met any truly unreasonable or nasty people here. The environment is full of people who are trying to their best in a vortex of inexplicable constant change and self induced bureaucratic inefficiencies. Recently, number of perks has been reduced due to financial cost cutting, but it is still one of the most decent places to work, in my 20 year biotech experience. It may be a good stepping stone to other opportunities in the Boston area.
Cons
Undergoing constant drastic change, inexplicable upheavals, large company inefficiencies. These problems are endemic to all big companies, but at Takeda, it is aggravated due to Japan / US dichotomies in cultural outlooks. Currently (2018) company is driven by Western leadership that buy into the (necessary?) notion of relentless lay-offs, site closures and wholesale centralization to Boston / Cambridge as the last hope for medical innovation.
