Great support system but lacking training and feedback - Community Manager Taylor Management Company Employee Review

Pros

Once you find the right people you have a great support system

Cons

The training and development aspect is lacking. During onboarding, many important processes and expectations are not fully explained, which would help new employees become comfortable and successful in their roles. Managers are often placed at a property and expected to figure things out on their own with limited guidance or support. There also appears to be a lack of ongoing employee development. Annual performance reviews and regular one-on-one meetings with supervisors are not consistently conducted, resulting in limited feedback, coaching, and career growth opportunities. Additionally, the bonus structure lacks consistency and transparency. Whether an employee receives a bonus often depends entirely on the performance of the building they are assigned to, rather than individual performance or contributions, which can be discouraging for employees who are performing well in challenging circumstances.

Pros

Fast-paced environment with exposure to many aspects of community association management including operations, budgeting, vendor coordination, homeowner relations, and board interaction. Strong opportunity to build problem-solving and multitasking skills while managing diverse communities. Team members are knowledgeable and willing to assist when needed, and the experience provides a solid foundation in the property management industry.

Cons

Property management is naturally high-pressure and reactive at times, especially when managing homeowner concerns, vendor issues, and emergencies simultaneously. High workload and competing priorities.
