Cons
Fundamental lack of alignment at leadership level, resulting in constant confusion, conflicting direction, and wasted effort. Decisions are often reactive and frequently reversed, making it extremely difficult to deliver meaningful progress. High turnover in senior roles with little to no transparency, creating ongoing instability and uncertainty. Expectation of being “always on”, regular out-of-hours contact, including evenings, weekends, annual leave and public holidays (including Christmas day!). 'urgent' meetings scheduled for Saturday 9am- HR does nothing to implement healthy boundaries. Removal of flexible working, remote options, and any family-friendly benefits, leaving an outdated and unsupportive working environment. No salary progression over a number of years despite increasing responsibility and workload. Culture driven by pressure and blame rather than accountability or collaboration. Disrespectful communication is a daily common occurrence. Lack of psychological safety. employees are unlikely to feel comfortable challenging decisions or raising concerns. Inconsistent and unclear management structures, with shifting priorities and limited support. Teams are under-resourced, yet expectations continue to increase. Unprofessional behaviour and inappropriate workplace commentary are not uncommon. Pregnant women or returning from mat leave mothers are treated poorly, team members appearance is made fun of, senior leadership speak terribly about each other. Toxic is an understatement. Bullying is normalised and HR are nowhere to be found.
