Pros

Some nice experiences with other photographers on same level, Some of the schools can be nice: offer you coffee, help you with bags, and be friendly etc

Cons

Absolutely awful pay it's a lot less than minimum wage and they force you to work long crazy hours. You get paid around £600 a month no matter how many hours you work and they try to squeeze as many hours out of you as they can. You only get paid your minimum wage once a year in a bulk sum. You get a company car but that company car lowers your personal allowance to around 4k. Lots of promises of career opportunities and wage improvements but this never happens and even those higher up in the company are also being paid around minimum wage. You often get told you have to work with very little notice (often having to travel and sometimes stay in hotels for this) and because of you're contract you are forced to work any days they wish. The people higher up treat you as a number not as an individual, they're goal is to make as much money as they can they don't care about their employees as individuals. this is not a nice company stay away from them if you can.

Pros

I am currently work at Tempest Photography as a Senior School's Photographer covering the area of Worcester. I find Tempest to be a great employer, they are a very understanding and flexible company who listen with families always at the heart of what we do. Great care is taken in terms of training to make sure that every interaction with employees from the company is positive. Full photography equipment is provided including a company car and a mobile. No previous experience required in terms of photography as full training is given as what is required is enthusiasm, a positive outlook with a caring friendly nature and the ability to work with children of all ages to capture that special moment. The Autumn term is very busy working 5 days a week for Sept, Oct, Nov with the occasional early start (at schools at 7.30am for pre-school family photographs). Again busy in May and June with the occasional (one or two days) work in March and April. There is also the option to work extra hours at University Graduations across the country with all expenses paid including accommodation and food. I would definitely recommend working for Tempest as there are not many employers where management, including the Managing Director actually photograph at Schools and Graduations.

Cons

I am unable to find anything to not to work for Tempest
