The job is not what it is advertised as. You are not a "marketing manager," you sell phones at a kiosk in Sams Club, Target, et al. It's about as adjacent to an MLM as you can get, too (I believe it's a part of Smart Circle? It's not technically an MLM, but it's a skosh away). Rough all around, really toxic work culture (I, a 30 year old man at the time, asked for a very simple schedule request and was told that those sorts of benefits are "only for people who really want it and hustle"), an expectation to do work/go to meetings off of the clock, extremely low compensation if you do not meet sales quotas, etc. The verbiage of the ads/interviews make this job sound like a dream, especially if you are someone young and struggling financially. But please remember, reader: if something sounds too good to be true, it always is.
