Pros

Easy Work: The job itself is incredibly easy. Once you learn the handheld scanner and the basic layout of the store, it's just a matter of walking around and grabbing items. You don't take any of the stress of the job home with you. Colleague Discount: The 10% colleague discount (which sometimes increases) is a genuinely great perk and saves a decent amount on your grocery shopping. Staying Active: You are on your feet for the entire shift, so it's a good way to get your steps in and stay active without having to go to the gym. Predictable Hours: The shifts are generally fixed, so you always know when you're working, which makes it easy to plan your life around.

Cons

Repetitive and Mundane: The work is extremely repetitive. You are doing the exact same thing every single shift, and it can become quite boring very quickly. Unpaid Breaks: None of the breaks are paid. It feels like you're at the workplace for an extra 30-60 minutes for free each day. Early Starts: The 6 am starts are tough, especially during the winter months. It can be difficult to maintain a social life if you constantly have to get up before the sun rises. Lots of Boring Training: Before you even start, you have to complete hours of online training modules that are incredibly dry and feel largely irrelevant to the actual job of picking items off a shelf. Pressure on Pick Rate: There's a constant focus on your pick rate. This can add a layer of stress to an otherwise simple job, as you're always being measured against a clock.
