Pros

The staff are incredible in the events department, a really close knit team that has perfected their events with very little outside help.

Cons

Management is not loyal to their employees at all. They would rather lose all of their seasoned staff and start from scratch every year than listen to what their staff needs. They then proceed to not understand why every year when we start hiring new people why the events are regressing again. It’s a neverending cycle of feeling unheard and unappreciated by management. Tetherow also does employee appreciation events, however, the events team has to work all of these events and doesn’t get to participate. Any changes that are seen by staff and that staff try and fix, takes weeks because it has to go through SO many levels of management, then event staff gets scolded for it not being fixed. It’s a hot mess. There is also nowhere to move up. They always talk about how they love to promote internally, but I have yet to see it happen to anyone in any department other than a $2 raise to a supervisory position. The GM is also only on property one week each month, and prides himself on the fact that everyone walks on eggshells around him. There is a weird dynamic between him and other managers, where they will tell staff to do conflicting things and there is never any winning. Also, a lot of senior management are bullies. Refuse to learn event staff names, ignore them, make them do jobs that they are supposed to do etc. Basically it gets really old really fast, and it seems to be a very much sinking ship.

Pros

Beautiful location to work Free golf access as employee Some of the coworkers on property are considerate and genuine They have many departments you can work in to make up hours if your service department is running slow You get to offer beautiful wedding service experience

Cons

Extremely underpaid. The service charge for banquet events is not giving to staff. It’s used to fund other events. A complete distortion they use against their gets. So tip compensation is very underwhelming Management doesn’t take racially offensive marks seriously. Won staff member referred to some African American guest as “n*ggers”, it was reported and no consequences were made over it Overall, management is extremely disorganized and very poor communicators over job responsibilities. Each shift feels like a circus of unexpected responsibilities They love to hire complacent inconsiderate people for management positions, so no actual real ethical improvements can occur The food/price points to host an event in banquets is obscenely high and not matching of the poor quality of the food. Needs lots of salt to eat. Many times steaks have been uncooked and served to guests where they complain
