As much as this company prides itself on being a "marketplace for ideas" and thinking outside of the box, it really does value corn-fed, homegrown, middle American, Abercrombie and Fitch candidates. Somehow, I was hired, thank goodness(?). And despite expressing interest in moving around in the company and actively applying for jobs within it, I haven't gone anywhere. Keep in mind, people get promoted here like crazy and most can't write past a 10th grade level. On many occasions people go around me for the expertise of my co-worker even though I have seniority and she ends up getting the answer from me anyway. That along with other microaggressions makes this a less than ideal place to work.
