Pros

Everyone at the company definitely shares a love for the product and a commitment to the company's values, as well as upholding the standards of the late Dame Anita Roddick. As a store manager, you can call almost any other manager in the district for a question and they will be extremely nice and help in any way they can. The company is bringing a new focus on training and really coming out with some new great tools to use. They are always coming out with new products, give employees a 40% discount, and some free stuff too! Benefits are pretty decent, vacation time accumulates easily. 75% of store managers are hourly, which means you get paid for overtime (even though they highly discourage it) and time and a half for holidays.

Cons

No one got raises last year. No, I'm not joking. The company was -2% in sales, so no one in the entire company was given raises during the annual performance appraisal process in April '08. Very frustrating for the many managers and associates whose stores performed above average and still were not compensated for their service. Also, there is a serious lack of communication coming from home office/district managers. They will say floorset on Friday. Then change it to Thursday. Then, on Tuesday night, they'll make you redo your schedules because, oh, they've changed their mind again, floorset is on Wednesday. So you'll make your schedule 3 times.
