      Pros

      The only good thing is its flexibility - you get to accept or decline shifts via email. Also, you get to go to different venues.

      Cons

      You are an "independent contractor", which is essentially a way to skirt all labour laws. This means there are no breaks, no overtime pay, etc. It also means there are no EI, CPP or vacation pay contributions. So the $14 per hour is really the equivalent of minimum wage. You do NOT get tips, training is unpaid and you have to buy an expensive uniform in order to start. You also sign a non- competition agreement, which makes sense since you'll be making less than anyone you work with from a different company.

      Pros

      The owner was very nice to work for. They did their best to get the information to you.

      Cons

      Sometimes what was promised to the client was not possible. This was done to keep the bid low. Too much work for one person.

      Thank you for your review. We appreciate the feedback. There has been a lot of changes to the way TBDI ice running based on a change in ownership so we appreciate the kind words! Indeed, certainly after the pandemic managing client expectations with the skills that we have can be challenging. But we are committed to training and working alongside our employees and clients to create amazing events!
