Pros
When I started at emmes, I had incredible mentorship. I couldn't have asked for better colleagues. I really felt like my department cared about me as a person and valued me as a colleague.
Cons
Fast forward to now - things just keep getting worse and worse. All things point toward Emmes being sold, so who knows what that means for anyone unfortunate enough to still be here when it happens. Look at the signs: - Profit sharing permanently discontinued - Reduction of unlimited approved leave - no, you won't find it in the updated policy....read the FAQs released along with the updated policy. It is clear Emmes is capping leave (and rolling both sick and vacation time into one), without employees actually accruing the time. - Sudden resignation of several key figures at director level positions.... and the position has not been backfilled, nor do there seem to be any plans to do so. - Refusal to invest in employees by providing legitimate training or materials to be successful on the job - Significant reductions in other benefits, e.g. medical insurance, 401K matching, etc. - Executives unable to provide any concrete plans for addressing performance concerns...other than providing managers with more training. Ironically, the execs themselves said that the overwhelming majority of employees were satisfied with their managers (yet incredibly dissatisfied with executives).
