As a start up making real headway in the industry one of the best parts of the job is the job security and opportunities for advancement. Mentorship and development are really appreciated and valued here. Feedback and ideas are always welcome and because its a small company your voice is always heard. Having worked here when it was under much different management. I can say that the changes made to the structure have only been for betterment of the company, employees and stylists alike. The culture was much different in the past, but its encouraging to see that its taken a complete 180 with the new management team. I have held employment with startups in the tech industry before and have felt like I had no voice in the direction of the company. Getting in with a company at the ground floor you really have a say in how you would like to see the company grow and watch your ideas come to life. In my personal experience at The Glam App, I have been given opportunities to travel and grow and given the trust by management to lead in events and tasks.

As it is a start up, there is no formal corporate “structure”. Policies are new and being revised. So things are ever changing in the day to day business. This is good if you are able to adapt and enjoy having new things to look forward to everyday. There are no formal policies in place which is similar to working in a small business, however as mentioned above your voice is heard, so if you have a request or question with anything in the job, you are empowered to ask.
