One day your golden, the next your fired - Guest Relations Host The Strong Employee Review

- They want bodies, period. They hire in batches of 20 or so and eventually you come to realize about 6 months later that your the only one from your hire group left because everyone quit or was fired. One day you can be given "trusted employee" type of jobs, and then the very next, fired for making 1 minor mistake. They truly have a 1 strike policy there, and pretty much if a guest complains about you by name, your fired. - break? You get one half hour break, if you work 6 hours. Otherwise you need to ask permission to use the restroom/etc. and it's clearly looked down upon if you want to take a 15 or any other sort of breather. Also, that half hour break is usually eaten up halfway just in the time it takes to go from the museum to the employee locker space and back again. - If you make the mistake of making a helpful suggestion, such as suggesting that there be an extra host in X exhibit, or that there be another walkie talkie in another, you'll be scolded despite being told before that ideas are welcome. - It's pretty stressful work for min wage; it is truly nonstop.
