Pros
- Challenger mindset - Always something to do, never sat around waiting for work - Flexible working - Technical autonomy - Some great minds within digital - Good work/life balance - Decent pension - The occasional freebie, albeit limited since covid - Weekly all staffs to keep people in the loop - Friendly throughout
Cons
- Under investment in digital, rendering burnout and a skeleton team - Poor approach to product which has left nothing but a graveyard of features and effort - Hierarchical red tape with parent company/other functions of the business which slows everything down (recruitment, creative direction, centralised resource e.g. UX) - Tendency to blame covid for just about everything making it borderline scapegoatism - Morale is pretty low due to churn/under investment/lack of reward or fun - Culture is nonexistent since covid, little to nothing has been done to tackle it - Poor and very loose framework for appraisals, pay rises (rate of inflation or performance related), bonuses or progression (the PDR is nondescript) - Dev hardware could do with a blanket refresh
