Pros

-- Extremely disciplined approach to project management -- Dotted i's and crossed t's when it comes to hiring, onboarding, benefits, etc. -- Smart, talented peers who are genuinely delightful and creative to the core -- Potential to learn a lot on the job if you're motivated -- Some quirky / interesting client work

Cons

-- Unprofessional passive-aggressive, avoidant leadership styles -- Unpredictable cruelty towards certain employees and rampant favoritism. Like someone else said, office politics galore -- Partners hold too much control over creative and were quick to tamp down on new ideas/avenues -- Little room for mistakes, but also little empathy for gaps in knowledge/experience -- Trigger-happy with hiring and firing -- Forced social events after work hours I knew I'd made a mistake accepting an offer at Thinkso when staff trickled into the first Monday meeting and it was like somebody had just died. Nobody said hello or looked excited to see a new face, let alone excited to be there in the smallest way. It's because new faces came and went like clockwork, and everyone was jaded. Take the job if you need it. It's really not the worst place to work. But have a backup plan in case things go south (which they probably will).

Pros

-Management/Leadership truly cares about the employees and clients -Remote work but still feel connected to the team -Fairly flexible schedule for personal needs/appts -Everyone on the team is great and highly accountable for their work -Good systems & processes in place, especially for project management -Good learning opportunities for all staff -Good salary and benefits

Cons

The only con is when we have multiple deadlines on tight turnarounds and "after-hours" time is required - but this is true for all agencies. It ebbs and flows and Thinkso really tries to maintain work life balance whenever possible.

Pros

The one upside for an agency like this that has a very irregular stream of income & client work is that there is often a fair amount of downtime, so after working on a busy project for instance there was often days afterward when there wasn't much to do. Not much of an upside but it gave time to job search to find a better place.

Cons

I've never encountered an employer which misrepresented itself so much in their recruitment interview of me as Thinkso did. Thinkso does very menial projects for its clients (think helping an executive polish up his/her powerpoint slides for an internal meeting), but in the job interview they described types of creative & ambitious work that they just don't do. So if you really need a salary in a short term, it's better than nothing I guess, but don't expect to grow your portfolio at all. It also seems very exploitive of them to hire interns. An internship is supposed to teach people new skills, but at this place the intern does such menial work that the internship won't help them land a job afterwards. I think the management here just views interns as cheap labor to be exploited, rather than as a chance to mentor someone.
